Leaving Ararat early to travel just over 2 hours to another Victorian country town - Bendigo.
Bit scary - the first 60km is through "roo country".
They come out as the sun comes up.
You don't want to hit one of the big buggers!
It doesn't end well for anyone.
We made it there and back in one piece!

Ararat's busiest intersection - Cnr Vincent St and Western Highway - 22nd March, 2008.
Glad you made it back in one piece!
ReplyDeleteA study just came out saying that 15% of Americans drive while intoxicated. Scary!
That must be pretty nerve wracking. Around here we have deer to worry about.
ReplyDeleteISABELLA - we saw a kangaroo hovering by the side of the road, just at dawn - he was really hard to see!
ReplyDeleteAnd there was a big white cow chewing grass on the shoulder of the road.
I guess whilstever (is that a word - probably not) there are cars, there will be idiot drink drivers.
KEN - it is!!!
ReplyDeleteI had a stress headache when I got home from peering into the darkness to make sure no creatures popped out in front of us.
I don' think hitting a big buck deer would be much fun either.
They say that 20% of accidents are caused by drunk drivers - trouble is what are we to do about those 80% crazy sober people?
ReplyDeleteI had a bit of a double take with this photo - and substituted 'roo for 'big truck'
