It's footy season!
YAY!
The AFL (Australian Football League) has begun!
Now, this isn't soccer or rugby league or rugby union or gridiron - it's Australian Rules.
I'm not a mad rabid fan like others but I love all the phoof and carry on that goes with it and I love how others love it so passionately.

Australian football does not pass on television on our premises.
ReplyDeleteToo bad
So you will get multiple joy from this season then :)
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend, Letitia!
Hi Letitia, here I am for my at least weekly visit...
ReplyDeleteEuro 2008 Football Champs is going to start in June in Switzerland and Austria; everybody here is looking forward to seeing what Portugal's team is going to do there...
Your pictures are great: Morning Walk, Water (shortage) and the Sweet young ladies are outstanding!
Thanks for your comments at Blogtrotter, where I’m still strolling around Bilbao. Look forward to reading you back there!
Have a great weekend!
Gil
This is so nice to see. Your photography is always nice to see.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit.
I will comment more at another time as I just returned from hospital and am not back to normal.
Abraham Lincoln in Brookville, Ohio.
Great photo, Letitia! Love all those green around...
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
I'm not an organized sports fanatic, but I know what you mean...I too love the "phoof" around it all ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like how the row of cars looks like a dotted line to sign on.
ReplyDeleteNicely framed by the trees.
ReplyDeleteOh Bergson - you should go here and have a little look!
ReplyDeleteIt's a really thrilling game!

No Leena - no special surprises this year!
ReplyDeleteMaybe next year - if we are lucky!
Hey Gil - there are so many blogs to get around to these days! And so many really good ones!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments about the photography - I was looking at some old posts from around a year ago at Freefallingskyward and I think I've progressed a little from when I first started.
OLDMANLINCOLN - so glad you aren't dead but still alive and kicking.
ReplyDeleteWhen you are feeling better you might like to look at that link I mentioned above:

I know you are an innately curious person.
Sonia - surprisingly green, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteConsidering we are in the middle of a drought.
But they keep the oval green with recycled water and those gum trees would have to go without water for many, many years before they died.
Not sure about the cypress hedge - I think they are relatively drought tolerant which is surprising because I always thought they looked like they originated from a cold wet place.
ISABELLA - it's great carry on, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love the carry on during cricket season too.
It's funny - all the world seems to have their own variation of a football game but not everyone has a variation of the bat and ball team sport.
Australia and England and most former English colonies have cricket, the US has baseball - what does Europe have?
Hockey? I dunno.
PETREA - they do too!
ReplyDeletePerhaps you've been signing too many credit card sales slips lately!
KEN - I think they are Poplars.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure they are considered an environmental weed here.
(bit like the foxes - kinda)
Carn the ....
ReplyDeleteAn hour and I'm off to my son's U14 AFL game! Will take camera too :-)
SALLY - did you get some good shots?
ReplyDeleteMore importantly did his team win?!
