18 Days On..............

......and incredibly the fires are STILL burning in Victoria, with an expectation that things will flare up again badly on Friday.
All those poor firefighters (most of them volunteer firefighters) must be utterly exhausted.
It's hard to believe that half of Queensland is under water at the moment.

Anyway, here's a photo of ...... well, I'm not exactly sure.
Probably some sort of hay carrier - he was zooming along a side road
with the wind in his hair having a lovely time.

On The Road - EARLY!!

Leaving Ararat early to travel just over 2 hours to another Victorian country town - Bendigo.
Bit scary - the first 60km is through "roo country".
They come out as the sun comes up.
You don't want to hit one of the big buggers!
It doesn't end well for anyone.

We made it there and back in one piece!

Big Truck

Yes, we have trucks in Ararat!
Big trucks.
Usually carrying something agricultural:
animals, timber, giant water tanks, etc
Mainly, they are just passing through.
This one is probably headed north-west, where the drought is being very unkind to farmers.

I'm sure it wasn't on purpose, but I'm impressed by his colourful selection of orange straps to contrast with the jaunty blue of his cabin.
