Ohhh, that sounds like an interesting place to haunt...errr, visit. ;)
Wow, it's a beautiful place (looking at the panorama view), but you've captured its sinister past in this wonderful shot.Brrrrrrrrrrr......
As far as I can see it seems to be a nice building. but the way you photographed it (and post-processed) makes it look sinister and full of secrets. Wonderful interpretation.
Spooky and spooky image.
I agree, it spooked me as soon as I opened the photo. And then when you said it was a mental asylum, I got a little freaked out!
Interesting new use. I wonder what the ghosties think?
Love the image ... puts me in mind of Manderley. I expect to see Mrs Danvers at any moment.
Jayne - mmmm...makes you wonder about the tortured souls that lived there.
Jelly - I'm not sure, but that bit in the foreground is part of the Aradale Golf Course - i don't think the mental patients use to get out there and play a few holes - I presume the golf club acquired the grounds from the Hospital.
April - thanks - that's exactly how it feels - sinister and full of secrets.
Babooshka - spooky AND spooky???That's REAL spooky.
Ruth - mmmm... you can read the records of the inmates/patients at the State Archives. People lived their whole lives there - that's all they knew.
Kris - yeah - interesting is the word. The complex is huge and the buildings beautiful - it just feels weird that people are learning how to grow grapes there now.
Thanks Sterl or is it Pearl? How about Sperl?
Julie...um.....I had to google Manderley - my education is sadly lacking.
Hi Letitia! So glad to see you back in the blogosphere!!From Mental Hospital to Wine College is a huge way... or isn't it? ;))Blogtrotter has entered Rajasthan! Enjoy and have a great Sunday!
Letty! You're here! I'm so glad to see you.I heard about the fires and it made me think of you, so I came poking around. This is the prettiest nut-house ever.
Letitia,I am thinking of you and hope you and your loved ones are safe.Hugs from V.,M.
You guys okay?
Letty....the photo's up to your normal peak standard. However, I dropped in to say how sorry I am to hear about the fires and to wish all of you the best of comfort and sympathy.
Great picture!I am sorry to see on TV the big fires and I am concern about you and I hope you and your family are safe.
I came by for the same reason, Don and I are concerned about you and Vince and all of you over there. Terribly frightening.
